Executive Education

Moving to a matrix organization? Striving to expand globally? RHR's custom executive education programs are designed to provide critical skills and behaviors needed to implement a company's strategic initiatives. Action learning based on real problems is emphasized, not classroom studies.

Before: Executive Education Required to Prepare Leaders for Strategic Challenges

“My corporation is one of the largest in our industry and was on the verge of purchasing several new companies to fill gaps in our product line. We had a large group of high potential executives who needed practical experience in a wide range of disciplines including leadership, strategy, competitive dynamics, and finance. The perception of the board was that the next generation of management did not yet have the skills and behaviors needed to effectively operate existing businesses and imminent new acquisitions. We were also experiencing difficulties with a variety of unresolved strategic issues. We had never faced an executive education project of this scale and didn’t know where to start.

“I had heard of RHR International’s executive education programs from the CEO of another company. I challenged them with providing a solution which would efficiently address both our situations.”

After: Executives Gain Experience Through Executive Education Programs

“Based on dialogue with management and assessments of the high potential executives, we designed a series of Action Learning Projects to focus on current needs while also providing an executive education experience. Participants were put into teams, which were given specific strategic objectives. External subject matter experts instructed the executives in the specific skills required.

"An RHR consultant was appointed as a facilitator to help the teams with group dynamics and decision making procedures as well as providing feedback to help with their individual development.

“In addition to the executive education aspects of the exercise, seven viable strategic action recommendations were made to the executive committee, including the formation of an independent, for-profit company that focused on product innovation; improvements in moving raw materials and packaging from source to customer; and comprehensive plans to counter an “attack” on the company by a competitor.”
