Dan Russell is a senior partner at RHR and serves as the firm’s global head of Assessment. In this role, he combines deep psychological expertise with commercial acumen to design and scale assessment solutions that deliver measurable impact for clients worldwide. Dan is recognized for his ability to challenge assumptions, disrupt outdated models, and craft innovative leadership programs that are both data driven and outcome focused.

Dan has advised Fortune 100 companies across industries in North America, Southeast Asia, Australia, and Europe. His expertise spans leadership assessment, succession planning, talent strategy, and advanced people analytics, including predictive modeling and machine learning. At RHR, he has built and scaled assessment and development services, led executive bench operations, and spearheaded the firm’s Assessment practice. His work ensures RHR’s solutions remain tech enabled, scalable, and aligned with rapidly changing leadership expectations.

Dan thrives on uncovering insights from leadership data and translating them into practical strategies that help leaders and organizations thrive. Prior to RHR, he had senior roles with global firms including SGS & Co, Deloitte, and Aon. Dan holds a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Virginia Tech and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Austin Peay State University. He is a Chartered Coaching Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, an active member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology over some 30 years, and a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation. Outside of work, Dan enjoys traveling, weightlifting, gardening, DIY projects, and spending time with his family.
