Julie Locke

Julie Locke is an RHR partner with over two decades of experience advising founders and executive leaders in high-impact, high-stakes environments. She works across industries and sectors, including capital investment (venture capital/private equity), technology, pharmaceuticals/biotechnology, consumer packaged goods, and nonprofits. Julie partners with investment professionals seeking to strengthen leadership while navigating portfolio management and deal strategy. She coaches founders and CEOs scaling their leadership through periods of rapid growth and works with boards focused on governance excellence. She also works with leaders elevating to the C-suite for the first time.

Julie leverages her keen understanding of complex business strategy and the psychology of motivation and behavior to help her clients increase self-awareness and accelerate personal and company performance. Her deeply attentive and insightful style quickly fosters trust and brings value. Before joining RHR, Julie founded a leadership-advisory and strategy-consulting firm serving the venture ecosystem. She began her career in executive search as a technology practice partner in Silicon Valley.

Julie holds a master’s degree in psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, a master’s degree in international relations from the University of South Carolina, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Furman University, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She is a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation, with additional postgraduate certifications in strengths-based and executive coaching as well as Hogan, MBTi, EQi2.0, and other level B psychometric assessments and trauma/resilience training. Fostering greater mutual respect and understanding, especially across different cultures and people, has been a lifelong commitment.
