+01 888-888-8888

Steven Gilbert is a senior partner, head of Private Equity, and East Region leader at RHR, leading the firm’s strategy to accelerate value creation in portfolio companies both pre- and post-deal. Leveraging over two decades of experience in executive assessment, coaching, team development, and organizational change initiatives, Steven champions the belief that strong alignment between investors and management and impactful, scalable leadership teams are the core differentiators of business performance.

In addition to leading the Private Equity practice, Steven manages the East Region, overseeing a large team of consultants. His dual experience—managing parts of a business and leading people—provides him with direct and tangible knowledge of the inherent challenges of leadership, further leveraged in his role on the firm’s operating committee, which manages RHR’s strategic, financial, and operational activities. Leveraging his sharp analytical skills, deep psychology background, and multinational worldview, Steven is adept at working with CEOs and management teams of private equity-owned portfolio companies, helping them scale their businesses from a critical leadership and talent perspective.

Steven is driven by a purpose: to positively impact the way people experience the world of work by unlocking each leader’s full potential. A crucial component of his outlook is his appreciation for varying perspectives, gained from growing up in the UK and living in Spain, Singapore, Canada, and the United States. He began his career as a psychiatric nurse in the UK before pivoting to business and psychology. He holds a bachelor’s degree in politics from the University of York and a master’s degree and PhD in counseling psychology from Boston College. In his free time, Steven enjoys his dogs, cooking, guitar, traveling, and golfing.
