As Disney has learned, choosing a new CEO isn’t easy

Disney has announced the successor to Bob Iger and Senior Partner Deb Rubin discussed with Marketplace about the difficulties of choosing a new CEO and how the board goes about deciding who it should be. Deb says “There’s a tendency to want to hire a clone if the last CEO has been tremendously successful, and to hire the opposite if a CEO has basically failed…. The reality is it’s somewhere in between.”
