More CFOs are being tapped for CEO roles. In fact, in the first half of 2024, 7.1% of CEOs at Fortune 500 and S&P 500 companies came from a CFO role, up from 5.3% in 2013. RHR’s Chief Commercial Officer Joanna Starek recently had the chance to speak with Fortune about this succession planning trend we’re seeing across industries, and the most common challenges that come with transitions between these roles.
