Krupa Shah is general counsel for RHR International. She is responsible for all things legal and risk. Her goal is to demystify legal issues while focusing on effective systems and value-based decision-making. A recognized leader in building domestic and international processes, Krupa applies a unique blend of law and business to inform strategic decision-making. She has a depth of knowledge on commercial contracts, data privacy, marketing, advertising, corporate governance, IP, and enterprise risk management across industries such as technology, professional services, e-commerce, CPG, and regulated businesses.
Prior to joining RHR, Krupa was general counsel and corporate secretary at Commerce Fabric, Inc., an e-commerce startup, where she built the legal function and launched the partnership program. Earlier, she was senior director of strategic initiatives at Adtalem Global Education, where she streamlined technology operations and led the communications office for Adtalem’s $1.5 billion acquisition of Walden University. At both Adtalem and Heidrick & Struggles, Inc., Krupa led the global privacy program, including GDPR implementation. In her first in-house role, Krupa advised on all aspects of the Groupon Goods business, from front-end customer experience to back-end development and supply chain. She was an associate in the corporate group at Quarles & Brady and clerked for the Honorable A. Benjamin Goldgar.
Krupa is a lifelong Chicagoan and long-suffering Chicago sports fan. She has a passion for the outdoors and volunteers with the National Park Trust as a board member and governance committee chair. She is a member of the Parent and Family Voice committee of the Starzl Network. When she’s not running around with her two kids, Krupa loves to travel and cook, particularly with ingredients from her vegetable garden.
